ACN to host events on anti-Christian violence

To mark the annual Week of Witness – which highlights the plight of Christians persecuted and discriminated against for their faith – Aid to the Church in Need, Ireland is hosting important public events in Dublin and Belfast.

Archbishop Linus Neli, the Archbishop of Imphal in India will speak about the current situation there. He leads the Church in Manipur, where hundreds of Catholics have been killed for their faith, thousands displaced and many churches destroyed.

On Sunday November 17, Archbishop Neli will speak in Dublin at Newman’s historic University Church on St Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2. It will be an opportunity for friends and benefactors of ACN Ireland to hear about the plight of India’s Christians, amidst worries about ongoing violence there.

That morning, Sunday November 17, Archbishop Neli will also celebrate Mass in the Pro-Cathedral on Dublin’s Marlborough Street.

On Tuesday November 19, Archbishop Neli will again speak in Belfast. He will be chief celebrate at the 1.05pm Mass in St Mary’s Church, Chapel Lane in the city.

The archbishop will offer insights on the current situation in his region, and the wider India as well as offer practical advice to ACN friends and benefactors about what we can do to support the suffering Church.
